Bio

For event planners looking for additional biographical info for flyers and promotions, here's a bit more than what is contained on the "About Lori" page.

Inspired by her deep faith and a desire to provide quality, principled books for people of all ages, Lori launched her writing ministry in 2006 with Gates & Fences: Straight Talk in a Crooked World. This thought-provoking work received high praise and opened doors for her to step into a new arena as a public speaker. In 2012, after several years of itinerant speaking ministry, Lori received her ministerial license with the United Pentecostal Church, International.

In October 2007, she released her second book, Quilting Patches of Life. In response, testimonies flooded into Affirming Faith as people shared how this book touched their lives with healing and strength. "My goal is to equip, educate and encourage," said Lori, and she pulls it all off in her own unique style. The Girl in the Dress broke sales records for the Pentecostal Publishing House and was reprinted three times in its first six months on the market.

Lori continues to develop new resources each year, including books in several genres: inspirational, discipleship, fictional, biblical study, devotional, and spiritual growth. To date, she has written and published 20 books and is working diligently on Preach Like a Lady.

Raised in Paducah, Kentucky, second of four girls, Lori grew up with her nose in a book and a desire in her heart to write. Turbulent youth and teen years spiraled into tarnished twenties, but ultimately compelled her to call on Jesus.

"If God can use me, He really can use anybody," Lori affirmed with a bright smile and a joyful heart. "I once heard a minister say, 'First you get a mess, then you get a message, and then you get to be the messenger.' It's so true, and I love to share the Lord with others."

By the grace of God, Lori overcame the obstacles of her past, but life's difficulties continued when she was widowed at 32 with 2 young children. After the loss of her husband, she married again to face the myriad challenges of a blended family.

Through it all, her faith and optimsim continue to encourage others. "Life isn't always easy, or what we expect it to be," she said, "but it can still be good because God is good, and He has good plans for His children."
